BRING ME THE HORIZON

Album Review: Bring Me The Horizon - That's The Spirit (2015 LP)

Officially confirmed as seventh act for next year's Soundwave Festival, much hype has surrounded UK metalcore giants, Bring Me The Horizon, with the announcement taking place on release day of their latest LP, That's The Spirit. It's interesting to see how the band have developed over time, looking at their past roots of deathcore in Count Your Blessings and Suicide Season to having them form a solid metalcore foundation in both There is a Hell and Sempiternal. That's The Spirit show a different side to the quintet and one that took on an electronic/alternative approach with their music and having frontman, Oliver Sykes confidently showcase his singing side...

Album Review: D At Sea - Anchors & Diamonds (2014 EP)

D at Sea is a musician with a natural talent. With his clever acoustic covers of various metalcore bands, it’s safe to say that he’s someone that wants to stand out from the crowd with his amazing vocals. When I first came across his cover of a track by Bring Me The Horizon, I immediately fell in love with his voice. With his recent release of his newest EP, Anchors & Diamonds, his take on music strays away from all the acoustic stuff, with a strong focus on having an ambient, experimental take on the pop and RnB genres.

It'll be a Soundwave reunion of sorts, with Of Mice and Men and Crossfaith set to support BMTH on all Australian dates - this is a monster bill of bands not to be missed! Tickets are on sale now.

BMTH

Coming off the back of a blistering performance at Soundwave, teasing us with some new tracks from this forth coming album, we now get to hear the whole record and fans will definitely not be disappointed. Their trademark metalcore sound is still prevalent but the band have enlisted the help of Jordan Fish to add keyboards and electronics to the songs to give a new dimension that seems to fit in well.
