Six underrated horror films to watch this Halloween

There are so many well-known horror movies out there. But there are also quite a lot of underrated ones too. Here are six horror films I believe more people should know about this Halloween. Grab some snacks, and settle in tonight! You’ll not want to miss watching any of these.

All Hallows’ Eve (2013)

All Hallows Eve takes place on Halloween night, where two children find a VHS in their candy bag. If you love creepy clowns and abnormal jump scares, then be sure to put this film on your Halloween watch list.

Terrifier (2018)

If you enjoyed All Hallows’ Eve, we’ve got good news. Art the Clown is back in another gore-buster, this one much more horrifying than the last. Viewers with a weak stomach will want to come prepared.

Amusement (2009)

This is a film where childhood memories really are never forgotten. The storyline follows three girls who used to attend the same elementary school, and a killer whose connection to their past is anything but fortunate. If you like some good ol’ twists and turns, this is the horror flick for you.

The Monster (2016)

You’ll want to turn the lights off for this one. The Monster follows a mother and her young daughter as they face up against a creature who is out for blood. Not only does this film make for excellent jump scares, but the troubled backstory of mother and daughter really adds a delightful touch.

Emelie (2016)

When your babysitter turns out to be not who she says she is, you’re dealt with a frightening reality. With a skin-crawling performance from Sarah Bolger (The Tudors, The Spiderwick Chronicles, Once Upon a Time), this film is a mother’s worst nightmare.

The Orphanage (2008)

This film may not be as scary as the other films in this list, but it is chilling in its own way, and sure pulls the punches when it comes to an emotionally charged plot. The Spanish film The Orphanage follows a mother whose son disappears, and her search to find him. Behind his disappearance is a dark and saddening story no one would have guessed.
