Australian release date announced for Jesse O’Brien’s Sci-Fi thriller Arrowhead

If.com.au reports that Arrowhead, the sci-fi thriller described as “an interstellar Jekyll & Hyde”, has been picked up by StudioCanal for a release in Australia and New Zealand on June 9th. The film follows Kye, a prisoner of war who becomes stranded on a desert moon after a crash landing.

Earlier this week, it was announced that Jesse O’Brien’s screenplay won the John Hinde Award for Excellence in Science Fiction writing. StudioCanal, who have acquired distribution rights for Australia and New Zealand, describe Arrowhead as a strong example of “rising Australian talent”.

Director O’Brien hopes that Arrowhead ‘can inspire the imaginations of audiences and other filmmakers’ in Australia, saying “we’re only a few movies away from a significant genre resurgence in Australia”.
