Music Video of the Day: Amelia Arsenic “Carbon Black” (2016)

Full disclosure: after watching this music video on YouTube, I then spent a good amount of time watching make up tutorials trying to see how Amelia Arsenic perfects her looks. If you’re not familiar with the name, Amelia is a Sydney musician and fashion designer who has been dabbling in music, design and art for a few years now.

Following her split with goth/industrial group Angel Spit, Amelia went out on her own and balanced design with her own new solo music. She released her debut solo EP last year but it’s over this Halloween weekend that we’ve finally seen the release of its first music video, for the single “Carbon Black”. The sound is a mixture of industrial and electro with hip hop influences layered in between; “Carbon Black” is all energy, ravenous melody and raring to go.
