Here’s your first real look at Halo Infinite

Halo Infinite

Halo Infinite has gotten its first public demonstration at the Xbox Game Showcase overnight.

The demo began with a sequence set on the titular ring world, one that looked very like the original before the player opened what appeared to be an open-world map. Whether this points to an actual, larger scale open world design or simply large, curated “open world” biomes similar to last year’s Gears 5 remains to be seen.

From there, pandemonium reigns as Chief goes on a rampage against the numerous Covenant and Banished forces he finds there. Chief’s weapons now strip armour from the Banished, and his fancy new grappling hook pulls enemies and interactables toward him in a flash. The trailer also features a nod to fallen Halo Wars 2 villain Atriox, which is a nice tie-in with the wider Halo lore.

It remains unclear what the game’s multiplayer will look like, though if previous iterations are any indication we imagine there will be the standard campaign co-op and competitive multiplayer options available.

Halo Infinite launches exclusively on Xbox Series X and Windows PC this November.
