Blizzard releases second, amazing Overwatch short, Widowmaker fans rejoice

Blizzard have released a second animated short for their upcoming team shooter Overwatch. Built around sniper character Widowmaker, the short provides an insight into her backstory and motivations with a knock-down, drag-out fight with Tracer. Hit the jump to see it for yourself.

This short was made available via the PlayStation blog and YouTube channel which is a bit of a different move for Blizzard, but then Overwatch is a very different game for the traditionally PC and strategy oriented developer.

The short is set on the game’s King’s Row map in London and marks the second time we’ve seen Tracer and the Talon assassin square off in an official cinematic.

This release comes only a week after Blizzard released the first animated short for Overwatch, Recall, which featured primate scientist and World’s Jumpiest Tank Winston.

Overwatch releases May 24 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
