The Beautiful Girls, Sticky Fingers and Ash Grunwald

We all listen to a variety of music and bring our individual styles and inspirations to the table, which adds to the writing process. We really push each other’s boundaries with new song ideas, including genres and styles which others may be previously unfamiliar with.

How did the band get started?
Three of us met during our first year of study at JMC Academy, Sydney. The fourth member, Jarin Penniall, joined the band a few years later, after his previous band ‘Barrel House’ called it quits. It was a turning point when Jarin joined us, we really started to take things seriously, and Jarin’s industry experience helped us build direction and identification.

How would you best describe your live show:
It’s captivating and fun! Our deep groove riffs and RNB vibes lift the audience to their feet.

Tell us about your latest release:
Our self-titled E.P., released Friday, July 31, 2015 signified a new chapter for us as a band. It was a step up in every way – the production process, how we perform each track and the sound. We’re all really proud of the final product, as we feel we’ve found our genre and niche and every band member contributed and made this E.P. what it is. Our confidence in the sound really shines through, and the reviews, charts and feedback have proved we’re on the right track!
