Ahead of their upcoming Australian tour, I was lucky enough to secure some interview time with Passion Pit's frontman, Michael Angelakos. Having experienced a warm welcome back to the country with their album Gossamer last year, Angelakos opens up about his feelings toward the record now, touring Australia and their dedicated fan base.

They're favourites in Australia, and now, Passion Pit have confirmed that they will be performing a string of headline dates in both Australia and New Zealand, as well as being confirmed to appear at both Splendour in the Grass and the Spin Off Festival. Last in the country on the Parklife tour, Passion Pit's latest album Gossamer was showcased to a great reception from audiences around the country and quite frankly, we're happy to see they're back so soon.

In 2012, Adelaide's 5/4 Entertainment teamed up with Splendour in the Grass' Paul Piticco to put on a "bite sized" Splendour in Adelaide, dubbed the "Spin Off Festival". The first year featured, Lana Del Rey, Kimbra, Band of Skulls and more. 2013 will see the festival returning to give Adelaide fans a reason to celebrate. It will take place at the Thebarton Theatre on Friday, August 2nd.

The Festival d'été de Québec, Canada's largest outdoor music festival, is taking place again this July 4-14. With 12 outdoor stages and venues, attracting over 1000 artists to the historical city over the 11 day event, this festival has been pulling visitors and performers of all arts in from all over the world since 1968.

As the legendary Bob Marley put it, ”Sun is shining, the weather is sweet; make you wanna move your dancing feet…” - nothing could describe Parklife in Adelaide better. Traipsing through the Botanic Gardens on a Sunday were hundreds of punters keen for a dance along to tunes provided by over 35 national and international acts and as I’d find out as the day continued on, the artists were just as keen to get in on the party as we were.

A hint of summer was in the air as the 2012 edition of Parklife hit Wellington Square with a lineup featuring The Presets, Passion Pit, Nero, Robyn and more. Stuart Sevastos was on the ground to bring the photos of the day.

I had to trash my mental map for this year’s always-anticipated Parklife, as the Sydney leg of the established yearly dance festival came with a not-to-distant venue change. The familiar Kippax Lake was left alone as brightly-lit kids marched into Centennial Park for a day filled with gorgeous weather and trendy tunes.

From hits, such as "Sleepyhead", "Little Secrets" and of course, "The Reeling," comes another single from synth-pop band Passion Pit that is already shaping up to be another stunner. "Take A Walk" exudes a euphoric beat that makes you want to get down and dance, rather than take a walk. Taken from their new album, Gossamer, the LP is scheduled to be released on July 20!
