From the beautiful sitar sounds of Ravi Shankar’s daughter, Anoushka, to the extraordinary guitar work of Rodrigo yGabriela, there was plenty to see on the opening night of the 2018 WOMADelaide world music festival in the Adelaide parklands.
There was wonderment at the overhead trapeze act “Place des Anges” with the crowd showered with feathers and the slow reveal of musicians in The Manganiyar Seduction. The TAO Dance Theatre were a tight group of skilled dancers that had the crowd in raptures.
