Live from the ARIA 2012 "Red" Carpet with the AU review: Part Two!

In our continuing red carpet misadventures from the 2012 ARIA Awards in Sydney, we take you back to nine more of our live streams from Soundcloud, plus some backstage press conference audio from The Temper Trap, Russell Brand, Gotye, Kimbra, Yothu Yindi and Peter Garrett. We had a great time at the awards - see you again next year!

Live from the ARIA 2012 "Red" Carpet with the AU review: Part One!

Once again the Australian Music Industry's "night of nights" has come and gone, seeing the venerable Gotye retain his crown of "Best Male" as well as taking out two other awards including the big one - "Album of the Year". London based, Melbourne bred The Temper Trap were the only other multi-winners of the night, taking out two awards, while indie heartthrob Matt Corby won song of the year for "Brother".

Gotye cleans up at the 2012 ARIA Awards in Sydney overnight!

Arguably the biggest night of the Australian music industry, the ARIA Awards, took place in Sydney overnight and brought some of the country's heavy hitters in music out, as well as some international guests. From Taylor Swift's performance through to Russell Brand presenting Gotye with his umpteenth award of the night, the ARIAs of 2012 seemed to go smoother than the ceremony did last year.

Live Review: Radiohead + Connan Mockasin - Sydney Ent Cent (13.11.12)

You know those moments when your favourite band plays your favourite song and it's everything you ever imagined it would be... and more? Tonight was one of those nights where this happened again and again and again. This was the night that Radiohead came and pleased their Sydney fans after an eight year absence. Let it be known that they did not disappoint. But first, we have a support band to talk about...

Live Review: The Black Keys- Sydney Entertainment Centre (22.10.12)

Waiting for The Black Keys to start you wouldn’t have known it was a sold out show. The Royal Headache played to a rather quiet house but as soon as the lights dimmed and The Black Keys opened with “Howlin’ For You” there wasn’t a vacant seat.

Live Review: Mumford & Sons + Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros - Sydney Entertainment Centre (18.10.12)

After having some of their stage gear stolen, and with other places in Australia receiving special mini-festival performances, you’d be forgiven for thinking Mumford & Sons’ Sydney show wouldn’t rate amongst the best of 'em. But you’d be wrong. The English quartet put on an excellent concert of inclusive and thoughtful indie folk tunes that could be enjoyed by young and old alike.

Live Review: Slipknot + Trivium - Sydney Entertainment Centre (27.02.12)

Metal heads unite - Soundwave festival has come and gone but the Sidewaves reverberate throughout Sydney. Trivium and Slipknot joined forces to fill the Sydney Entertainment Centre, and Dave Roberts was there.
