With the first show being sold out, we arrived to a packed Roxanne just as the Gaslamp Killer was starting. Apparently no-one minded that it was a school night, the energy in the room was buzzing and the drinks were flowing.
First band for my night was Ghostwood, and holy fuck! It was amazing, to put it simply. Though highly unprofessional for me to say it in such terms, there isn’t much I can say about that does not contain expletives in regards to this band and how they managed to completely blow me away.
I arrived just in time for Last Gypsys with bluesy, psychedelic rock and roll songs, Brian Jonestown Massacre coming to mind immediately. They were a nice way to warm up my night, it was easy to listen to, but had a slightly haunting appeal about it all, keeping me watching right till the end.
