Lauren Connelly brings us these photos of Tumbleweed and Batpiss at Fowler's Live in Adelaide:
Melbourne metal lords King Parrot celebrated the release of their new album Dead Set by playing a blistering show in Adelaide on Friday night, accompanied by Victorian comrades High Tension. Lauren Connelly went and checked out the riffs.
DZ Deathrays arrived in Adelaide on Thursday night as part of their “Get Rich or Drunk Tryin” tour in support of their second full-length album Black Rat. In support were Illawarra surf rock duo Hockey Dad - I’d first seen these guys live in support of Bad//Dreems late last year and they blew my mind. They’ve taken things up another notch since then and it was clear a large section of the audience had come early to see them before DZ’s – if not just to see them.
DZ Deathrays are touring sold out "Get Drunk or Die Trying" shows in Australia along with Bass Drums of Death from the USA and Adelaide's own Hockey Dad. Our photographer John Goodridge managed to catch the madness that is DZ Deathrays in this photo set.
Fowlers Live was sold out on Friday night as The Preatures played with support from Bad//Dreems. Kerrie Geier brings you these photos from the amazing night:
Meat Puppets have been making music for the best part of thirty years. Tonight The Kirkwoods bought their Arizona rock music to Fowlers Live. Our photographer John Goodridge was there to capture some photos.
Twunks has many themes that I found familiar, as a straight female. Too many times have I sat about with close gal pals, reciting Sex and The City quotes, scowling at the happiness of loved up couples and Facebooking over vodkas or wines on a Friday night because we’ve been too broke to hit up a bar or a club for a decent night out. The show’s stars Nath Valvo, Thomas Jaspers and Brendan Maclean (taking over from Joel Creasey) offer an insight into what a night like this was like for them as twinks, obviously.
If you’ve seen a Paul Dempsey/Something For Kate show before, you’ll be familiar with the reaction generated by any one of the covers delivered through a set. From renditions of "Rock The Casbah", "Stop" or even "Born To Run", I always thought about what a full set of covers would be like to witness. Over the last few months that thought became a reality, as Dempsey released his Shotgun Karaoke EP to incredible acclaim.
Paul Dempsey played a sold out show in Adelaide this week as part of his Shotgun Karaoke tour. AU photographer Lauren Connelly battled the heat and dove into The Kingdom to bring us these photos.
What do you do when you can't get a photo pass? Shoot from the mosh pit. "Kvelertak was just what the doctor ordered. Best 50 bucks I've spent." - Alex Kwong Photography.
Friday night saw Fowler’s Live succeed yet again in pulling the most bizarre, eclectic selection of human beings I have ever seen gathered in one place at one time. But the bizarreness didn’t stop there. Orchestral art rock band The Red Paintings are the definition of weird, and it’s just too cool.
The Red Paintings return to Adelaide to bring their latest show to Fowlers Live. Mark Davies was there to capture all the action and brings us these photos from the night...

The Bronx, currently in the country for Groovin' The Moo, gave Adelaide fans one hell of an amazing show at Fowler's Live on Thursday night. Lauren Connelly was there and brings us these photos...
