I can’t say exactly what attracted me to this gig. Not knowing a lot about either band when I bought the tickets, I suppose it was just curious. My acquaintance with HEALTH extended to a rather confronting Youtube video a friend showed me of a band building a song live with percussive bursts of pedal-controlled distorted noise and drony vocals.

As a sideshow to their scheduled Big Day Out appearances, Indie darlings Matt & Kim have decided to grace our shores once again for their unique brand of feel-good indie pop. Steadily increasing in popularity since their second album Grand, this infectiously happy couple have been brought out to showcase their new (and old) material to an excited Beck's Bar audience.

One of the most exciting things about the lead up to Sydney Festival is the line-up announcements for Sydney's best pop-up venue, Beck's Festival Bar.

My favourite temporary music venue is alive again, oh joyous occasion, Beck’s Bar is playing host to a handful of eclectic gigs throughout January as part of Sydney festival and first up, for me, was the Amanda Blank-headlined FBI night.
