Last Saturday was the date for what felt like the grandest of house-parties. VICE hosted the Australian launch party for the new online-music-streaming-one-stop-shop, Rdio. The entire Beach Road Hotel in Bondi held an evening of controlled chaos, voyeuristic adventures and heroic live sets.

Sydney's own Sherlock's Daughter have been in New York for a while, but were back Wednesday night for a free gig at the Beach Road Hotel in Bondi. Despite some equipment theft the night before, Tanya Horo and her band pulled off a great set of eclectic pop. Nik Thorup headed down to check out the action.

Megastick Fanfare were nearing the end of their set. They are definitely one of my favourites of the local Sydney scene, along with similar artists such as Seekae, Parades (Jonathan's other band) and of course Jonathan himself.
