Returning to Adelaide in 2009, having lived in Darwin for 10 years, I became involved in the Adelaide music scene whilst undertaking a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Adelaide. Starting off as a gig/CD reviewer, I gradually began building a portfolio through a few different online publications as a way to see shows around town and be exposed to new music whilst on a student's non-existent budget. Having grown up around musicians and artists, I've known from a young age that I would always want to work in this industry and, even though I can't play anything to save my life, I'd still want to be as ingrained in the developmental stages of an artist's career as possible. Since 2011, I've been doing publicity work here and there, whilst moving into more of an editorial position with the AU as the SA State Manager.
Love discovering new musicians at any stage of their career, whether they're supporting an international band or playing at the pub on a weeknight. I'm an avid Doctor Who fan and if I'm not working on an interview with someone or at a show, I'm usually trying to find a legit excuse to nap during the afternoon.
