Album Review: Half Moon Run - Dark Eyes (2012 LP)

Dark Eyes is the first album released by Half Moon Run, and it certainly is an album that makes an impact and reflects an intriguing sensitivity in this group of twenty something’s.

Single Stream: Royal Chant "Did You Pay Cash For That Panic Attack?" (2013)

After just finishing their first tour of the USA, the Royal Chant trio have released their brand new single 'Did You Pay Cash For That Panic Attack?' for the new year. Recorded in New York, 'Did You Pay Cash For That Panic Attack' is a song representative of Royal Chant's style, loud, distorted guitars, heavy vocals, as well as being a bit in your face. And it's a free download for fans! It doesn't get much better than that.

Album Review: Bec And Ben - Butterknives To Razorblades (2012 EP)

If dark, distinctly-Aussie rock sounds appealing, you need to know Bec and Ben. The first song crawls up on you. Twenty seconds in, there’s a change; an echoing riff, speeding up gradually until the one minute mark. Another change. This riff is shorter. Sharper. Then Bec starts to sing, and they’re not the words you expect. ‘Scar tissue and I think I gotta bruise on my left side.’ BANG. “Collide”. One of the finest songs on a standout debut has begun.

Album Review: Buffalo Tales - Blood & Bone (2012 EP)

Former Idol winner Wes Carr has returned with Blood & Bone the debut EP from his new project Buffalo Tales. Anyone tuning in to hear a collection of pleasant radio friendly pop rock songs are going to be sorely disappointed. Blood & Bone is a completely different beast from Carr previous output, a return to his musical roots as a singer-songwriter. Carr has crafted an EP full of striking and mesmerising tracks, that signal a bright future.

the AU interview: Buffalo Tales (Australia)

Many of you will undoubtedly remember Wes Carr as the winner of Australian Idol a few years ago. Since then Carr has had a pretty eventful time. He was dropped by his label, turned a plane around, and done plenty of soul searching. Now he's back with his debut release Blood & Bone under his new moniker Buffalo Tales. We caught up with him to find out more.

Single Stream: Little Scout "Go Quietly" (2012)

Brisbane’s Little Scout are back with the new track "Go Quietly", mixed by Lars Stalfors (The Mars Volta) in LA, a collaboration that occurred when Lars approached the band after hearing their tracks on triple j unearthed radio. Written with Scott Bromiley of The John Steel Singers, and recorded by Little Scout drummer Miro Mackie, "Go Quietly" is a taste of what’s to come when Little Scout track their second album later this year.
