In a celebration of a stunning career spanning over a decade, Playground Touring and
Stop Start proudly present THE BEST OF DOVES: 2011 AUSTRALIAN TOUR.
The trio of Jimi Goodwin, Jez and Andy Williams will play their way across the country
covering their 12-year catalogue of luminous genre busting rock ‘n’ roll majesty. The tour
coincides with the release of The Places Between: The Best of Doves – a retrospective
journey of one of Britain’s best-loved bands.
The critically acclaimed, Mercury Prize nominees come armed with a set bound to win
over new fans and delight devotees. Expect classic Doves tracks such as ‘Black and
White Town’, ‘There Goes the Fear” and ‘Catch the Sun’ as well as personal band
favourites traversing their four studio albums, including two UK #1s.
Jimi Goodwin describes their music as “sonically adventurous” continuing to say: “We take all our musical influences and put them through a filter and the result ends up
as Doves. There’s a chemistry between us which is as strong as ever. And looking back
over the last twelve years I’d say it’s a pretty good run of music out of three people.”
The Mancunian icons will play shows in Brisbane, Sydney Melbourne and Perth capped off by a headline slot at Playground Weekender Festival delivering
