Having recently played to sold out venues around Australia with their headlining tour and later selling out the Hi Fi for their official EP launch, Red Ink returns with news of a new release ‘Werewolf’ and being announced to showcase at the 2011 Hot BBQ festival in Portsea.
Although it’s been a long year for the Frankston based rock outfit the group celebrates a triumphant year, having played in excess of 100 shows spanning from WA/ VIC/ SA/ NSW/ QLD to having their music featured on rotation through many commercial radio networks nationwide.
Last night the group comprising of John Jakubenko (Vocals), Brendan Jones (Guitar) James Munns (Bass) and Aaron Sim (Drums) announced they will be releasing a new track ‘Werewolf’ that’s due for service TODAY and followed by a National tour effective immediately.
ABOUT WEREWOLF
Werewolf was written by Red Ink and features the full might of lead singer John Jakubenko’s powerful melodic vocals.
If not one of the groups strongest songs to date at 2minutes and 54 seconds the group’s latest offering is just one of the many reasons Red Ink is turning heads worldwide.
The track was mixed and mastered by ARIA nominated producer Forrester Savell who has worked his magic with some of Australia’s chart topping acts including Karnivool, The Butterfly Effect, Birds of Tokyo, Dead Letter Circus, Dallas Frasca, Martin Martini & The Bone Palace Orchestra, Sleep Parade & numerous other Australian artists.
INSIGHT INTO WEREWOLF
Werewolf is sleazy, its dirty, its raw - Think late night summer dance floors, trashed house parties with broken bottles and cigarette smoke filled rooms, werewolf pays homage to the after dark sleazy nightlife. The track is solely devoted to lust, it’s a story of a man on a mission to find the sexiest girl on the dance floor and make her his own.
The raw sexual energy of the track is a result of an incredibly seductive bass line backed by thumping heart/ pumping drums, screaming vocals and sneaky sexual erotic guitar licks.
Werewolf is angst, energy – it’s a song that leaves you with the desire to head out, find 'her' and work your magic it’s a true cheeky summer party hit.
