2010 has been a long strange trip for emerging Perth pop pastoralists SPLIT SECONDS!
Barely one year old Split Seconds will roll into Summer on the back of winning a spot at the Big Day Out in Perth via the triple j Unearthed BDO competition, being chosen by the powers that be to perform at The Perth Laneway festival, head hunted to appear at Perth’s Southbound Festival and having their single ‘Bed Down’ added to triple j rotation! Not bad for a band that won’t be releasing their debut EP until FEB/MAR of 2011!
Recorded in Perth by Steve Bond (The Panics, Snowman, The Bank Holidays) and Benjamin Golby, the self-titled EP was mixed in London by respected Australian producer Aaron Cupples, best known for his work The Drones and Dan Kelly.
Formed as an outlet for Perth songsmith Sean Pollard (New Rules For Boats) and despite being but a year old Split Seconds has already chalked up supports with Cloud Control, Richard In Your Mind, Sally Seltmann Wagons, Little Red and Dan Kelly.
