Myles Mayo releases debut solo single and announces shows in Adelaide and Sydney

New Other Tongues signing Myles Mayo is set to release his first solo single, a “double A-side” and taster from his debut solo album due for release on Other Tongues in March 2011. The record is bursting with melody, the narrative providing snippets of Myles’ move from the small town of Chambers to the big city.

Already added to Triple J and community radio, lead single “How You Done Me Wrong” introduces itself with a handshake and a wink, coming on with a Beach Boys pop flavour that belies a darker lyric. While flipside “I Slept The Winterground”, which is spinning across ABC radio nationally, is a classic ode to love found, lost, and found again, with the requisite nod to finding yourself somewhere along the way. A darn fine double A package and itunes single of the week 30 November!

Myles Mayo's musical history includes his role as singer, guitarist and songwriter with Adelaide's much-heralded Special Patrol, a band with which Myles toured Australia several times over, including playing shows with a slew of local and international artists, at some of the nation's biggest venues and festivals.

Don't miss Myles Mayo playing with full band when he joins up-and-coming Ethiopian soul maestro Dereb The Ambassador for a very special evening on Wednesday 15 Dec at The Gaelic Club in Sydney. The night is the official launch of Dereb and Myles's new singles and will host an array of new Other Tongues artists.
