Loon Lake release 'Not Just Friends' EP and announce Melbourne launch party

Garage infused indie-pop five-piece Loon Lake spent last summer in the studio, feverishly polishing and perfecting their thrilling debut EP Not Just Friends.
The result is an arresting and infectious debut only a band of brothers; Simon, Sam and Nick along with two close friends Tim and Dan could produce.

Mixed by Robin Mae (Nick Cave, John Butler Trio), Not Just Friends will be released on June 3, 2011 and comprises six hook-laden tracks which combine frenetic vocals and sweet harmonies, leaving raw sincerity resonating from every infectiously raucous riff.

Loon Lake’s first demo ‘Into the Office’ enjoyed triple j airplay and was also the first blistering taste of Not Just Friends. Debut single ‘In the Summer’ went one better and landed itself high rotation on triple j and was the first official release from Loon Lake’s Not Just Friends EP. As well as basking in the airplay spotlight, Loon Lake have also had the honor of being a Triple J Unearthed Featured Artist and were winners of last year’s highly coveted Triple J Big Sound Competition.

To celebrate the release of their debut EP, Loon Lake will be launching Not Just Friends at Ding Dong Lounge in Melbourne on Friday 3 June.
Loon Lake are honoured to have been invited to support the Red Riders for their last ever shows on Friday 17 June at Northcote Social Club in Melbourne and at Oxford Art Factory on Saturday 18 June in Sydney.
