Gotan Project bring their vibrant, eclectic sounds to Australia this December for a series of dazzling
shows highlighting their unique blend of electronica - meets - tango.
An Adelaide show has now been confirmed with the group performing one show only at the Festival
Theatre, Friday December 10. Tickets on sale this Monday, November 15, through BASS.
Paris-based musicians and Gotan Project founders - French DJ Philippe Cohen Solal, Swiss
programmer Christoph H Müller and Argentinean acoustic guitarist Eduardo Makaroff - offer an
arresting celebration of tango combined with downbeat ambient electronica, with guest musicians
and a striking video backdrop by multimedia artist Prisca Lobjoy.
In 2000 Gotan Project released their million selling debut album ‘La revancha del tango’ which also
garnered a placement in The Guardian’s top 100 albums of the decade. This was followed with
‘Lunático’ in 2006 upping the ante to in excess of 2 million sales.
Now ‘Tango 3.0’ will lead the way into a new decade with its cinematic vision and its invocation of
not only Buenos Aires but also Mississippi delta blues from New Orleans to Nashville to the back
streets of New York. ‘Tango 3.0’ is Gotan Project’s new world order.
