For the first time in the history of NSW’s premier boutique music festival, Playground Weekender will present Norman Jay MBE’s ‘Good Times’ party in Melbourne for a huge reunion bash! Good Times have celebrated thirty funk filled years at The Notting Hill Carnival in 2010 and in 2011 they are bringing the party to Australia!

It’s all happening with a four hour Norman Jay MBE Good Times DJ set – Friday 4th March in Melbourne for recognition of the thousands of punters who travel from Melbourne (the fastest growing market for the festival) to Playground Weekender each year.

Norman Jay MBE’s Good Times set encapsulates the spirit of Playground Weekender, with the man himself playing at 4 out 5 festivals. Awarded with the MBE for his services to music in 2002, his sets are filled with classic 70s and 80s funk, soul and rare groove “where music sounds better with you”

The award winning festival held in Wisemans’ Ferry (1.5 hours north of Sydney) is held over 4 days – Thursday 17 to Sunday 20th February 2011. Featuring over 200 artists including; Lamb, Tricky, Kool & the Gang, De La Soul, Kate Nash, Caribou and the one DJ who has been coming back for more every year.
