Eskimo Joe announce the "When We Were Kids" Tour

In the lead up to the release of their highly anticipated 5th studio album, due out later this year, Eskimo Joe are set to perform five very special, intimate, acoustic performances Australia-wide in May. The rare acoustic shows will feature some of the recently crafted, yet-to-be released songs as well as their classic tunes. A portion of the profits from the tickets will go to the Close the Gap Campaign http://www.oxfam.org.au/explore/indigenous-australia/close-the-gap

In addition to these shows, Eskimo Joe will also be playing the 2011 Splendour in the Grass Festival in July – see all dates below.

Last Friday April 8th the band announced via their sites there would be “some big news to share on Monday April 11” and that it was. The "When We Were Kids" tour was initially available exclusively to subscribed fans but now a limited number of tickets are available via the bands website to the public.

The trio has come a long way since their humble beginnings as much-loved indie rock kids in Fremantle, Western Australia. The band is now nearing the completion of their 5th studio album, recorded by the same team that produced the multi-platinum, Black Fingernails, Red Wine which made an impressive debut in 2006 on the Aria Chart at #1.

Inshalla, the bands musically diverse and internationally flavoured 4th studio offering, delivered a Led Zeppelin tinged, Middle Eastern flavoured single in "Foreign Land", which earned the band the most played Australian song on radio in 2009, along with an APRA award for "Best Rock Song".
