Fresh from three months of touring the USA with the likes of Billy Bragg, Corin Tucker, Tim Kasher and Sean Lennon, Australian songsmith Darren Hanlon will end the year with his customary Christmas shows in Sydney and Melbourne.
These intimate shows will be your chance to see Darren in solo mode and hear striped back versions of songs from his critically acclaimed album I Will Love You At All. Both shows will feature secret special guests joining Darren on stage.
Released locally on Flippin’ Yeah Records in August and on seminal US label Yep Rock in September, I Will Love You At All was written in a variety of exotic locations from Paris to Coonabarabran. The album was recorded at Type Foundry in Portland, Oregon by Adam Selzer (M Ward, She & Him, The Decemberists). Featuring Rachel Blumberg (Bright Eyes, M Ward, She & Him, The Decemberists) on drums – along with three additional drummers – the record also features long-time collaborator Cory Gray on keys and vocalists Shelley Short and Alia Farah. Darren’s most honest and understated work to date, I Will Love You At All is a charming Australian songbook of gentle longing and reminiscence.
Don’t miss your chance to catch Darren Hanlon at St Stephens Anglican Church in Sydney on Saturday 18 December, and the Northcote Social Club in Melbourne on Sunday 19 December. After selling out album launches across the country earlier this year, these intimate shows will definitely sell out!
