If you aren’t yet familiar, then this is your chance to get to know Ball Park Music and their killer tunes and crazy onstage antics that have produced a reputation for one of the hottest live shows in the country. Announcing their first ever headline tour: How I Met Ball Park Music, kicking off this July, with shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.

2011 has so far been a busy year for the sextet. Appearances at Big Day Out and Good Vibrations festivals kicked the year off in fine style closely followed by, the triple j Unearthed Triple Rainbow Tour featuring Eagle & The Worm and We Say Bamboulee. National touring continued with the co-headline ‘Super Commuter Tour’ with Sydney-siders, Guineafowl that proceeded to build the buzz of their impressive live show. More recently, the band styled-it up, appearing at the Ben Sherman Big British Sounds shows alongside Boy in a Box and Strange Talk and recently, they returned from their first international expedition showcasing at Music Matters in Singapore and CAMA festival in Vietnam. To say they are “busy” is probably an understatement. Nevertheless, the capers continue with the announcement of their first ever headline tour.

Joining Ball Park Music on their national jaunt is Adelaide indie-rockers City Riots. With their new single ‘In My Head’ off their impending record in tow, the four-piece are certainly a worthy addition to the bill, to get punters in-gear early.

With so much time being spent on aeroplanes, in tour vans and onstage, it’s a surprise Ball Park Music have found the time to spend in-studio working on their forthcoming album. More news on that to come later!

‘Rich People Are Stupid’ is the third addition to the list of triple j favourites amongst ‘Sad Rude Future Dude’ and ‘iFly’.
