Four piece Sydney band The Holidays kicked off the night with their indie pop dance tunes to an enthusiastic crowd, with their new single ‘Moonlight Hours’ receiving the most applause. Their performance was ordinary, nothing mind blowing however credit must be given to bass player Alex Kortt; who carried the band’s sound with sleek bass lines which flowed throughout the venue.

Two Dancers, the second album by British indie rock band Wild Beasts and was met with worldwide acclaim, and tonight they proved why. Vocalist Hayden Thorpe’s much talked about falsetto voice soared through the venue early on with ‘The Fun Powder Plot’ and ‘We Still Got the Taste Dancin' on Our Tongues’.

Hayden Thorpe and Tom Fleming spent alternated between bass, guitar, and keyboards perfecting their set with such diversity playing songs off their first record including the haunting ‘Brave Bulging Buoyant Clairvoyants’ to the eerie ‘His Grinning Skull’.

However the highlight of the night was the vigour of Fleming's deep booming voice heard in ‘All The Kings Men’ and ‘The Devil’s Crayon’ that overflowed with enough fiery passion to bring the crowd to their knees.

Wild Beasts are absolutely stunning live; their set was uncompromising and precise as they played every song flawlessly making this one of the most prominent sets of 2010.
