As Kate Miller-Heidke took to the stage for The Nightflight tour, the only room left in the Metro was of a standing capacity
The crowd were hyped up and ready to go, by the always entertaining work of The Beards. This electricity grandly intensified as Kate Miller-Heidke took to the stage with her band.
Her voice echoed through every corner of the room with an ethereal beauty, working a trickle up everyones spine. Only to be broken (ever so often) by a welcome, honest and often funny anecdote from Kate. She opened a window in to her world for the whole crowd to see. At one point, even breaking in to a cute, quirky dance with her backing vocalist and organist, to the absolute sheer delight of the crowd.
The crowd continued to clap and scream with every song and the atmosphere lifted with every bar. Kate worked her way through the octaves for the crazy delight of her fans.
There was never a moment of broken atmosphere as Kate took the crowd on a journey through her music. From original hits like "The Last day On Earth", "Can't Shake It" and "Caught In The Crowd", through to a great array of songs from her new album Nightflight. The crowd were always happy to take the next step with Kate and her band regardless of always where it took them. Clearly the step was always going to be to somewhere amazing!
With the crowd and band all incredibly happy, naturally an encore just had to be done. And what an encore it was! With Kate Miller-Hedike and her band taking to the stage with The Beards front man Johann Beardraven, for a version of "You Should Consider Having Sex With a Bearded Man".
