Another great evening by FBI Social with a kick-ass line-up. God they’re good at that aren’t they? Also top of the list in being good at ‘that’ were The Khanz, Fishing, Sures and surprise headliners Dappled Cities!
The people at FBI sure know how to celebrate, there were gummy bears for guests and even lei’s for the special few. Not sure of the significance of either but they do scream ‘commemorate’. The music was consistently wonderful and the FBi Social stage got increasingly packed into the night. My personal favourites were the SURES who performed a hypnotic set and made sweet little jokes throughout. Particularly memorable was when they broke a guitar string and continued without it, ‘who needs an A string’. Super charming SURES!
Much later in the evening FISHING ripped it up, followed by RÜFÜS DJ’s and Moonbase Commander. They were all enthralling enough to prevent anyone from leaving and it felt like a musical commune. Dappled Cities were the best of surprise surprises and they were warmly welcomed on stage by an enormous crowd as word eventually got out who was about to be on stage. Everyone seemed well satisfied, Thanks FBi!
A most enjoyable 9th Birthday party with loads of zealous guests. You can tell how sweet it was as I’ve unknowingly ended each paragraph in exclamation. There was one huge negative to the evening though, which was jealousy. I wish I had had my 9th birthday party across three floors at the Kings Cross Hotel too.

Editor's Note: FBi Radio is one of the most important institutions in the Sydney music community, and without it I think our community would suffer greatly. It's no coincidence the sort of talent that has emerged in the last 9 years... Please ensure you support FBi and I'd like to personally wish everyone at FBi a HUGE happy 9th birthday, and thanks to them for their support of us...
