Danimals + Fashion Launches Rocket Launches - Spectrum (15.01.10)

danimals-single-launch-2010

If Fuck Buttons and Animal Collective had a baby, and that baby grew up to be a tall, beautiful blonde, with big blue eyes, who then had sex with Health - the result would be Fashion Launches Rocket Launches. This enigmatic Sydney band (tonight playing as a four piece with members of Danimals) took the crowd on a minimalistic experimental pop journey which resulted in hypnotic euphoria. Blasting their way through a heavy set filled with thunderous catchy drum beats, along with enough synths to make Dan Deacon cry, one thing is very clear: everyone needs Fashion Launches Rocket Launches in their lives.

Fresh off their adventures from New York City, working with Mark Ronson, Santigold, Sean Lennon & more, Danimals have returned to Sydney to launch their double A-side “Hornet’s Nest/Christmas Worms Quest for Fresh Apples” (Click HERE to read our review of this release!)

Tonight’s performance was filled with passion and rhythm, with charismatic front man Jonti Danilewitz leading the charge through a fantastic set, playing through their double A-side, along with plenty of tracks, old and new, to keep all their fans happy. Thanks to their inarguable talent, Danimals bring much needed hope to Sydney’s music scene with their brand of indie pop.

This band is flawless.
