Photo Gallery and Live Review: Seether + Numbers Radio - Metro Theatre, Sydney (05.02.12)

South Africa's Seether performed to an almost full-house at Sydney's Metro Theatre on February 5, 2012; supported by Brisbane's Numbers Radio.

Numbers Radio put their trained talents to fine use on the Metro stage and surely won some new fans with their own brand of driving rock. All three members are clearly excellent musicians, playing tight and appearing to have a good time.

Running perfectly on time, Seether took to the stage in classic form, with the tattered Metro curtains slowly rolling back to reveal the three piece shrouded in darkness. Sadly this dim lighting prevailed for much of the show, with only momentary bursts of light illuminating the band here and there throughout their set.

With little audience interaction through the band's first three songs combined with the poor lighting, one had to wonder if they preferred this sense of mystery hanging over themselves and their performance. Irrespective of any lack of witty banter or on-stage pyro, Seether put on a great performance that was at once tight and focussed and a little ragged and dangerous at the same time.
