71 years old and can still rock a hat like its no ones business. Mr Robert Zimmerman, aka Bob Dylan has recently released the first single “Duquense Whistle” from his 35th studio album Tempest due for release on September 11 of this year.
The accompanying music video, directed by Nash Edgerton, is already creating a stir with the jaunty train song becoming the soundtrack to a not so fortunate stalkers week.
Terms like 'Tarintino-esk' are being thrown around to describe this clip but personally I think its more just Dylans own personal joke. The tune is strong, particularly the outro guitar solo and while lyrically it may not be as complex as his Self Portrait days, its worth it just to hear the gravelly voice his rocking.
If you take nothing else from this music video, let it be these few lessons: Pay for your roses, don’t knock people off ladders, its surprisingly easy to kidnap someone in New York and apparently swagger is something which improves with age.
Check it out.
