Vermont trio Mountain Man to support Feist in Australia

Feist is pleased to announce special guests Mountain Man as the main support for her Sydney and Melbourne Laneway Festival sideshows this February.

Mountain Man, the deceptively-titled all-girl trio from Vermont offer gimmick-free folk music; nary a banjo in sight, just three extraordinary voices and a sole acoustic guitar. It's un-ironic, un-adulterated American folk music that makes for a seriously joyous performance. Have a look at a video of the band performing 'Animal Tracks' from their widely acclaimed debut Made the Harbor (Spunk).

‘..they not only use nothing more than an acoustic guitar but make that sound like almost an afterthought, so entranced do you become with their voices which can be spectral as easily as soothing.’ 4 Stars – Bernard Zuel, SMH

"It's those harmonies - as sweet as a descending stream - that allows 'Made the Harbor' to stand out from the growling tones of their competitors." – NME

“Some of the most arresting music I've heard this year has come courtesy of Mountain Man, an all-female trio from Vermont, who sing of herons and honeybees, lost dogs and bathtubs.” – The Guardian

Mountain Man is the perfect complement to Feist, whose beguilling, timeless new record Metals continues to win hearts around the globe.
