Tonight's Sydney Opera House shows including Damon Albarn postponed due to siege in CBD. Details here:

As parts of Sydney’s CBD remain in lock down as a result of the siege in Martin Place, the Sydney Opera House have “decided to cancel tonight’s performances at the Opera House. This is to minimise pressure on transport networks and to provide as much notice as possible to staff and patrons.”

The cancelled performances are: The Australian Ballet’s The Nutcracker in the Joan Sutherland Theatre, The Sydney Theatre Company’s Switzerland in the Drama Theatre and Damon Albarn’s performance in the Concert Hall. Thankfully for Albarn fans, he has agreed to to two performances tomorrow night, as have all his planned special guests. Full details on this are at the end of this article.

The AU’s thoughts are with all those directly affected by the ongoing situation and we hope for a rapid, safe resolution for all involved.
