It was semi-confirmed earlier in the month thanks to a series of teases from Frontier Touring, but now tonight it is 100% official. The mighty Foo Fighters will be bringing their latest album Sonic Highways to Australia, supported by Rise Against for a series of dates taking them through February and March 2015.
When the band were last in Australia back in 2011 for a run of massive stadium shows, Dave did promise they’d play some smaller venues the next time they were in town – but at this stage at least, it seems like they’re doing the exact opposite – playing the biggest venues that possibly exist in each city they’re playing in. Epic. But still, here’s hoping they do pop up at our local pubs along the way too.
In addition to Chicago’s Rise Against, we’re also excited that The Delta Riggs will be playing at all of the Fooies’ Australian shows, except for Hobart. Sorry Hobart. All shows are All Ages and general public tickets go on sale on November 13th.
