GOTYE REACHES #1 IN THE UK AND AROUND THE WORLD
Gotye’s Hottest 100 topping single “Somebody That I Use To Know” (feat. Kimbra) has climbed to #1 in the UK, making it the 9th country alongside Australia, New Zealand, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Ireland, and Demark to see the single hit #1.
The music video for the single will be screened at the prestigious SXSW Film festival next month. Youtube had already received over 67 million hits for the video.
The new single “Easy Way Out” off the album Smoke and Mirrors will be out on 20th February 2012, will a music video by Melbourne animator/director Darcy Prendergast to accompany its release.

Lana Del Ray has taken Foster The People’s place at #1 in the ARIA Album Charts this week with her sophomore album “Born to Die”. Flo Rida holds strong at #1 in the Singles Charts for the fourth consecutive week with“Wild Ones” featuring Sia.

FUSE FESTIVAL 2012 ANNOUNCES INTERNATIONAL GUEST SPEAKER SETH GODIN, MANAGEMENT MASTERCLASSES & NEW MOBILE APP
Fuse have just announced a special addition to their Masterclass series – guest speaker Seth Godin. Godin is best known for the creation of one of the first Internet-based direct-maketing firms “Yoyodyne” which was bought by Yahoo! in 1998. Godin stayed on as vice president of permission marketing, and has published over 10 worldwide best sellers on the topic of marketing.
The Masterclasses aim to expose participants to advice from the best managers in the industry on topics such as starting a career in the music industry, self-management, and how to run a band as a business.
The Management Masterclass will be held on Wednesday February 22nd at the Carclew Youth Arts Centre

JOHN BUTLER TIN SHED TOUR MORE DATES ADDED
Due to extraordinary demand, John Butler has announced additional shows for his “Tin Shed Tales Tour” in WA, SA, and VIC.
Described as an “intimate solo performance”, the tour will also showcase Butler’s inspirational items from home such as personal art pieces, vintage guitars, skateboards that usually occupy his creative space at home. The performances will also feature special guests Felicity Groom and Mama Kin.

RECLINK COMMUNITY CUP SUNDAY 18TH MARCH, HENSON PARK, MARRICKVILLE
On Sunday 18th March Sydneysiders will experience their first taste of the “Reclink Community Cup” a community initiative run to raise money for individuals with mental illness, disability, those suffering from homelessness and substance abuse.
Battling it out at Hensons Park will be the Sydney Sailors consisting of music industry personnel and captained by Adam Spencer, and The Western Walers featuring local musicians captained by Dan Sultan.
The family event with also include musical entertainment, food and beverages, and kids activities.

GRAMMY AWARDS 2012 WINNERS
Bon Iver claimed two awards at the Grammys, taking home the Best Alternative Album and Best New Artist categories. Meanwhile Adele swept up at the awards with 6 categories, including Best Album of the Year, Records of the Year, Best Solo Performance for “Someone Like You”, Best Pop Vocal Album, Song of the Year with “Rolling in the Deep”, and Best Short Form Music Video for “Rolling in the Deep”. The songstress was up against the likes of Lady Gaga, Foo Fighters, Rihanna, and Bon Iver. Legendary artist Booker T. Jones took home the award for the Best Pop Instrumental Album for “The Road From Memphis”, now his fourth Grammy Award. Newcomer Skrillex was nominated for five Grammys and took home three awards for Best Dance Recording ('Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites'), Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical (Benny Benassi's 'Cinema Skrillex Remix), and Best Dance/Electronica Album. Currently touring as part of the Future Music Festival, Skrillex has also announced a Sydney All Ages show for Wednesday 7th March at the Enmore Centre.
