AUSTRALIA’S 2013 HARVEST OLIVE OILS THE BEST IN A DECADE

According to Rob McGavin, co-founder of virgin olive oil producer Cobram Estate, the quality of Australia’s 2013 harvest olive oils is set to be the best in a decade. Cobram Estate’s three groves have completed their harvest, with McGavin predicting that overall Victorian olive oil production will increase by over 160% from last year’s harvest. McGavin also recommends to consumers to buy the freshest and best quality Australian grown olive to ensure they’re getting the best available. Cobram Estate olive oils are available nationally at selected Woolworths, Safeway, Coles, IGA and independent supermarkets, as well as leading gourmet food stores and delis.

4ZZZ RADIO STATION

Brisbane community broadcaster 4ZZZ was the first community FM broadcaster in Australia and is now online and ‘on demand’, allowing listeners to stream their favourite 4ZZZ shows at anytime. 4ZZZ’s ‘On Demand’ is available on desktops, tablets and iPhone and Android smart phones. APPLETON ESTATE JAMAICA RUM

NESPRESSO COLLABORATES WITH ARTIST JOHN DAHLSEN

NSW environmental artist, John Dahlsen, is one of six sustainable artists and designers who has been challenged with creating an original artwork made entirely from sustainable materials (including Nespresso capsules) as part of a new initiative called ‘Project Upcycle’. Nespresso has commissioned these Australian creators to create the upcycled works over a 14 day period, and each work will be showcased on 25 July at the MCA, Sydney. Dahlsen is known for his work with all sorts of found materials, such as plastics and metals. MAROU FRAISEURS DE CHOCOLATE

Marou Fraiseurs de Chocolate is a new range of single origin chocolate available in Australia, out of Vietnam. Two French chocolatiers, Samuel Maruta and Vincent Mourou, based in Saigon have brought the renowned French chocolate-making tradition to Vietnam and created a high quality dark chocolate using cacao beans sourced from 100% local, family owned cacao farms. BUSABOUT BUCKET LIST

Busabout has launched its first Busabout Bucket List, where six video blogger (‘vloggers’) from Australia, USA and the UK are spending two months in Europe experiencing the Ultimate Bucket List adventure. The destinations are set, but the itinerary and activities will be based on recommendations by followers who can suggest challenges for each destination via Facebook and Twitter, with the top five challenges to be carried out by the vloggers. Challenge destinations include Ibiza, Florence, Rome, Paris, Venice, Croatia, Eastern Europe, Prague, Amsterdam and Berlin before they cross the channel to the UK and Ireland. The Australian Open of Surfing will be rebranded as the Hurley Australian Open of Surfing, after Hurley has become the title sponsor. Kit and Kaboodle is hosting an end-of-holidays party featuring Emoh Instead who is headlining on Wednesday 17th July. In parternership with marie claire and Mission Australia, Banjo & Matilda have launched the 2013 Sweater Exchange from their pop up store in MLC Centre. The nationwide iniaitve aims to collect preloved sweaters and redistribute them to homeless women this winter. SOFITEL SYDNEY WENTWORTH ARTIST IN RESIDENCE: GOSIA WLODARCZAK

Polish born artist Gosia Wlodarczak will be the artist in residence at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth from 15 July to 7 August. Well known for her drawing installations, Gosia will be carrying out drawing performances in Sofitel’s lobby bar, Soiree, and on the Lobby windows during her residency. Guests are invited to sit and talk with Gosia and be a part of the performance. International megastar P!NK has just opened exclusive pop-up stores in Melbourne and Sydney to coincide with her record breaking run of concerts at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena and the Sydney Entertainment Centre.
