While Adelaide-based The Beards may have formed as a joke way back when, it's a fact of certainty that they've become an underground success with the Australian music-going public. Since album number 2, Beards Beards Beards, was released in 2009 The Beards have toured the country basically non-stop.

But now they're back with even more songs that are all about, you guessed it, beards. 11 new songs, in fact. These 11 songs create The Beards third album, Having a Beard is the New Not Having a Beard. Frontman Johann Beardraven explained the album in depth: "It will be our third concept album about the same concept – the only concept of any importance to any of us – beards!"

Having a Beard is the New Not Having a Beard will be released through MGM Records on March 9th, 2012. The Beards themselves will be touring to promote the album through March and April; dates below!
