The Aussie BBQ to tour India as part of "Oz Fest" this November.

The Australian Government will join hands with 24 partners (from various government, educational and business institutions) to put on a “grand cultural festival” over the next four months, with a run of live concerts to take place throughout November as part of The Aussie BBQ event series.

Oz Fest promises to be a fairly large scale undertaking with 100 events taking place in 18 locations across India. Oz Fest kicks off in Delhi on October 16 at Purana Qila which will play host to a special gig. The gig will feature performances by Australian didgeridoo virtuoso Mark Atkins, Aboriginal singer-songwriter Gurrumul Yunupingu and Indian classical musician Anoushka Shankar, set against the backdrop of a special, 3D projection organized by Sydney-based AGB Events (who have crafted shows like this in the past).

Then, in November, four cities will play host to The Aussie BBQ which will feature some quality Australian indie acts, and good friends of the AU review. Prog metal band Karnivool will perform in Pune and Mumbai only but all four cities can look forward to indie rockers Jinja Safari (pictured), garage/indie duo Big Scary, electronica duo The Aston Shuffle and indie pop band Sheppard. All these bands will also play at the Bacardi NH7 Weekender, Pune.
