Sydney Festival announces its program for 2015 season!

The Sydney Festival has unveiled its program for 2015, comprising of 179 shows next year! Returning to destinations across Sydney, Parramatta and elsewhere, the Sydney Festival is set to present shows on with world-class reputations, including 18 world premieres, 11 Australian premieres and 22 Australian exclusives.

The music program for the Sydney Festival is larger than ever in 2015, featuring over 60 acts from wide-spanning genres. William Onyeabor, Nigerian synth pioneer and music icon, brings Atomic Bomb! The Music of William Onyeabor through to the festival, with his music celebrated and realised live by a brilliant line up featuring:

For the first time, Triple J, Sydney Festival and Fuzzy will host Beat the Drum: Celebrating 40 years of triple j, a once off event featuring some amazing bands and artists including:

Hilltop Hoods
The Presets
The Cat Empire
The Preatures
You Am I

The Summer Sounds in the Domain concert also returns in 2015 as well as Opera in the Domain, which will be showcasing some brilliant operatic stars performing, well...under the stars!

The Parramatta Opening Party also returns with a free music season on and around Centenary Square. Next year, it will be headlined by Paul Kelly and his new project, The Merri Soul Sessions, while another highlight on the Parramatta program includes Far From Folsom, which sees Tex Perkins embodying the spirit of Johnny Cash and his repetoire.
