NIKON and Warner Music Group announce schedule for three day live music residency!

The “Warner Sound Captured by Nikon” will present two days and three nights of great showcase performances at The Belmont in Austin for SXSW this year! For those outside of Austin, all three evening showcases will be live –streamed by Nikon, on the Warner Music Group’s premium YouTube channel, “The Warner Sound”. SXSW Film announces 2013 closing film as well as additional features and key panels!

The SXSW Film Conference and Festival has announced the return of Zal Batmanglij and Brit Marling with their film “The East”, to close out the 2013 edition of SXSW Film. The complete line up of films, sessions and panels for 2013 have also been released and are now available at Featured sessions for the 2013 conference include those with Danny Boyle, Rob Zombie, Joss Whedon and Sarah Silverman. Dune Rats announce SXSW showcase dates to coincide with extensive run of US dates!

Brisbane’s Dune Rats are set to stage a US invasion when they head off for a round of shows in March! The boys will be touring both coasts of America and are set to appear at SXSW for some great showcase dates as well. Check them out when they’re in Austin!

Waterloo Records announces 2013 SXSW day parties!

Waterloo Records will once again be opening its doors in Austin for a series of live music showcases during SXSW. There are no RSVPs for these gigs, so be sure to rock up early for the best positions! The shows are also available to be livestreamed from!

Big Picture Media has announced it’ll be holding its own unofficial SXSW showcase on the roof of The Blind Pig, on March 14. From noon, the FREE showcase will feature sets from the following artists:

Berklee College of Music announces its seventh annual SXSW party!

The Berklee College of Music is set to be well represented at SXSW this year, set to host its SEVENTH SXSW party on March 16 at Friends, Austin. Dozens of alumni and students will be performing and speaking at different events across the festival, with the party to feature up and coming Berklee and Heavy Rotation Records alumni and students:

”The Improvement Club” to have its world premiere in the Narrative Competition at SXSW

“The Improvement Club”, written, choreographed and directed by Dayna Hanson is set to have its world premiere at SXSW this year. A hybrid narrative film which mixes up mockumentary, musical comedy and dance film, “The Improvement Club" captures all the elements of emotion that comes with being a performer.
