Susan Boyle and LMFAO maintain their hold on the ARIA Charts, while Ed Sheeran shoots up to Number Two.

Susan Boyle holds firm at the peak of the ARIA Album Chart for a second consecutive week, with her new album ‘Someone To Watch Over Me’, building sales week on week. The Scottish singer’s 2009 debut release ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ returns to the top 40, in at No.29 this week. Accruing a sixth straight week at the top of the ARIA Singles Chart is LMFAO with the smash hit ‘Sexy And I Know It’. The duo blitzed the chart earlier this year with ‘Party Rock Anthem’, featuring Lauren Bennet & GoonRock, which remains in the Top 40 at No.22 this week.

Creeping back into the ARIA Album Chart top 3 is Adele’s ‘21’, which this week claims its thirty-fourth consecutive week in the top 5. Propelling thirteen places up the chart and more than tripling last week’s sales is fellow British singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran, with his debut release ‘+’, which rips into the top 10 in eighth position. The highest of this week’s four top 40 debuts comes from American rockers Disturbed with ‘The Lost Children’ at No.12, followed by ‘Australian Idle’ from local artist Tim Freedman at No.19. Bluejuice’s third studio album ‘Company’ achieves a No.23 debut this week, eclipsing the No.37 peak that their last album ‘Head Of The Hawk’ attained in October 2009. ‘A Foot In The Door: The Best Of Pink Floyd’ races from No.40 to 27, as Glee Cast’s ‘Glee: The Music, The Christmas Album Volume 2’ enters in 28th position. Notable top 40 re-entries this week come from ‘Songs From The Heart’ from Mark Vincent, which sits at No.31, as former chart-topper ‘Recollection’ from k.d. lang comes in at No.38.

Steadily climbing the ARIA Singles Chart, and propelled by an X Factor performance last week, is Ed Sheeran’s catchy tune ‘The A Team’, which moves from No.5 to 2 this week and narrowly misses the top spot. ‘Dedication To My Ex (Miss That)’ from Lloyd featuring Andre 3000 & Lil Wayne races up eight spots to No.6, giving the American singer his first Australian top 10 hit. Also rapidly moving up the chart is One Direction’s ‘What Makes You Beautiful’, which propels up six spots to round out the top 10. ‘It Will Rain’ from Bruno Mars blasts from No.24 to 16, as Jason Derulo’s ‘Breathing’ shoots a massive sixteen spots up the chart to 20th position. Returning to the top 40 is ‘Shake It Out’ from Florence + The Machine at No.37, with this week’s only top 40 debut coming from Glee Cast with ‘Rumour Has It/ Someone Like You’ at No.39.
