Rock of Ages announces the final date of its Melbourne run

Melbourne audiences have partied at Rock of Ages for more than six months and now it is time to pack the mullets away and say “goodbye”. Rock of Ages opened in Melbourne to standing ovations and five star reviews in April, with enthusiastic audiences singing and dancing along every night. Before the hottest show in town rocks out of town and heads to Brisbane and Sydney, grab a ticket and join the party. Don’t miss the final rock-travaganza at The Comedy Theatre on Sunday 6 November.

Tickets for the final performance of Rock of Ages will go on sale on Monday 12 September from Ticketmaster.

Rock of Ages will open in Brisbane on 13 November before heading to Sydney for a limited season, opening on Saturday 14 January 2012.

Rock of Ages is a hilarious, feel-good love story told through the hit songs: 'I Want to Know What Love Is', 'Don’t Stop Believin’', 'High Enough', 'The Final Countdown', 'We Built This City' and 'More Than Words' by iconic rockers Foreigner, Journey, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Poison, Starship, Pat Benatar, Whitesnake and many more.

Set in 1987 on the Sunset Strip, Drew is a big-city dreamer who works in L.A.’s most legendary club but desperately wants to be a rocker. He meets Sherrie and they fall in love to the greatest songs of the ‘80s. It’s an awesomely good time where big hair meets big dreams in a rock comedy romance.

The cast of Rock of Ages is led by Amy Lehpamer and Justin Burford, who have taken Melbourne by storm and rocked their ways into the hearts of everyone who attends the show. The Herald Sun calls Justin Burford “hugely appealing” and The Age writes “what a superb voice—like honey with gravel in it.”

Rock of Ages is currently playing on Broadway and across America on a U.S. National Tour. It also played in Toronto in 2010 and has just opened in London. Rock of Ages is now being made into a major motion picture starring Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Russell Brand.
