MusicNT progresses through Plus1 Initiative & seeks support to employ Development Manager in 2015!

In some good news out of the MusicNT camp, they today announced that they have been successful in the latest round of the Plus1 Initiative, a program developed by Creative Partnerships Australia that provides matched funding/financial support for arts organisations in order for them to further develop, attract new sponsors and strengthen existing or developing networks. Applying this to MusicNT and indeed, remote Australian music bodies and organisations, there's no real surprise that MusicNT is an ideal candidate for the program, as they continue to strive to ensure the NT music industry remains a significant member of the wider Australian music community and help local artists realise their goals.

The next step MusicNT are taking now is to launch a crowdfunding campaign to raise $50,000 by May 28th - $50,000 which will be matched dollar for dollar by Plus1, if successfully pooled together by the May deadline. All donations are tax deductible and will be going directly towards supporting musical goals affecting NT artists.

One such goal they've got in mind is to employ a Development Manager, an individual who will be on board permanently in overseeing and continuing MusicNT's fundraising projects, all the while maintaining relationships with the businesses, sponsors and individuals who have shown their support. If you've been involved in the music industry in the Top End or have even spent time up in this area of the country as a music fan, you'll know that it is a territory hosting some wonderful talent but also faces the disadvantage of geographical isolation. It's expensive to tour the NT and for NT artists to tour outside the Territory, not to mention the costs involved in maintaining an artistic outfit successfully within as a local artist.

MusicNT continues to support the artists in the regions, no matter what level they are at and we're huge supporters of the work they've done in the past and the projects they've been successfully running in recent times too. To be involved in supporting what is a great cause, visit
