Announcing Sydney's own Lanie Lane as special guest on Brian Setzer's Rockabilly Riot Australian Tour 2012
At the beginning of 2011, Lanie won a slot on the Sydney Big Day Our line up thanks to Triple J's Unearthed Competition discovering her song, "What Do I Do."
That was followed by accompanying You Am I's Tim Rogers on 'Trigger Finger', several live shows including UK and USA tours, and an invitation from the one-and-only Jack White to record a couple of tracks in his Nashville studio.
'Aint Hungry' a 7" single produced by and featuring Jack White, was released on White's own Third Man Records as part of the acclaimed Blue Series.
In October Lanie Lane released her debut album, 'To The Horses' (Ivy League Records), which made a stunning debut at #12 on the ARIA album chart.
'To The Horses' is a collection of 11 songs - including single 'Oh Well That's What You Get Falling In Love With A Cowboy'- that duck and weave through a heady mix of early rock 'n' roll, blues, and rockabilly, serving up fantastic tales of love, lust, heartbreak and the importance of a good guitar. All this delivered by one of the most undeniably distinctive voices and charming characters in Australian music.
On the back of the album's success, earlier this month Lane played her first sold-out, headline Australian tour, including two Melbourne and four Sydney shows.
Lanie soon took to the road again as part of 'Straight To You', Triple J's Nick Cave tribute tour.
November has also seen Lanie nominated for Triple J's Unearthed Artist of the Year award and, be announced as performing at the South by South West festival in Austin, Texas in March 2012.
Now add Lanie Lane to Brian Setzer's Rockabilly Riot national tour you've got one hell of a year for Ms Lane!
