Kimbra’s highly anticipated debut album VOWS is released on 2 September 2011 and to support the release, Kimbra will embark on a national tour playing live shows with her band in Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, Perth and Brisbane.
Tickets go on sale on Friday 5 August.
Kimbra is already proving herself as a songwriter and music stylist beyond her years. Settle Down, the first single lifted from VOWS, won first place in the Pop/Top 40 category at the The International Songwriting Competition (ISC), the world's preeminent global songwriting event... Most recently Kimbra was also awarded the prestigious Vanda & Young Songwriting Award for her 2nd single Cameo Lover.
Kimbra captured the attention of Australian music lovers with her vocals on Miami Horror’s single I Look To You and currently with a duet with Gotye on his haunting hit single Somebody That I Used To Know.
Having signed with Warner Music Worldwide earlier this year, Kimbra’s debut record VOWS has been three and-a-half years in the making. It charts not only her growth and development musically over this time, but personally as well. Recorded and arranged at home as well as in various studios, it presents her unique worldview on life and love. Even at twenty-one years of age, Kimbra already possesses the maturity and musical sophistication of the mavericks she is so often compared to - from vocal legends Nina Simone and Jeff Buckley, to radicals the likes of Prince, and contemporary artists such as Björk and Janelle Monaé. Kimbra co-produced VOWS alongside the refined skills of François Tétaz (Bertie Blackman, Gotye) and Australian Urban export M-Phazes (Amerie, Pharoahe Monch).
Kimbra has already made a major impact in Australia with her live shows, critics are unanimous in their praise:
“Kimbra, elegantly contrasted in red and black, tilted her head back, rocked on her heels and let her voice soar; enchanting all who were lucky enough to hear it”
Inpress Magazine @ Northcote Social Club, Melbourne
“She was like a current of electricity, striking at every
single corner of the room”

FasterLouder @ Oxford Arts Factory, Sydney
In addition to her own tour dates, Kimbra and band will brighten up stages across the country this year with appearances at music festivals, having just played Splendour In The Grass fans can also catch Kimbra at Parklife, Queenscliff and Homebake.
Don’t miss Kimbra live on tour in September.
