Keystone partners with Sydney Festival for Keystone Festival Bar

The Keystone Group is very pleased to announce that in 2012, it will partner with Sydney Festival as the naming rights sponsor for Keystone Festival Bar at Hyde Park Barracks. The partnership celebrates an unbeatable combination of one of Australia’s leading arts events with one of Australia’s leading hospitality companies who are behind some of Sydney’s most glamorous and exciting venues.

Set amongst the timeless facade of the iconic Hyde Park Barracks Museum, Keystone Festival Bar is Sydney’s best outdoor summer bar and a stalwart favourite venue for music-lovers. Set to bring Festival goers 14 unforgettable nights of music against a breathtaking backdrop, it is the perfect accompaniment to Sydney in January. The unbeatable line up of live bands and DJ’s; the regular late-night drop-in for Festival artists and the canopied dance floor under the night sky definitely make this the Festival’s coolest venue.

“January in Sydney is known around the world as the place to be. Keystone recognises this, and puts it down to three things: the fireworks, the weather, and Sydney Festival! To be now part of it in such a large scale event that represents all our bars so well, is something we are truly excited about,” said Paul Schulte, Group Director, Keystone Group.

Sydney Festival celebrations will also be enjoyed at The Keystone Group’s venues across Sydney: Gazebo Wine Garden, The Winery, Manly Wine, Cargo Lounge, Bungalow 8, theloft, The Sugarmill, and Kit & Kaboodle will all serve a specially created Sydney Festival Cocktail, designed by Keystone Bartender extraordinaire, Jason Williams.

Keystone Festival Bar will be the place to be seen this summer, bursting at the seams with electro-soul, Latin, house, hip-hop, indie rock, sultry chanteuses and tribal beats. Artists will include The Whitest Boy Alive, Nouvelle Vague, Shabazz Palaces, Pedrito Martinez Band, Turnyards and many more. Late night acts will include new wave dance music from South Africa’s Shangaan Electro, Latin house from Tribalismo DJs and deep, funky tunes from Festival Bar favourites Mad Racket DJs.

“The team at Sydney Festival have a creative flare and ‘a love’ to think outside the box, so Keystone saw this partnership as a very natural fit. Year after year, they continue to deliver an innovative program of music, art, theatre and dance and we’re excited about working with them to bring some of these exciting acts to Sydney crowds,” adds Paul Schulte.

Around 650,000 people enjoyed the 2011 Sydney Festival, which included 109 events with 338 performances and 17 free events throughout the city, and contributed $50.2m to the NSW economy.

Sydney Festival will run from January 7-29. The line-up for the 2012 program, including Keystone Festival Bar is available now, with tickets on sale November 9.
The Keystone Festival Bar will also be selling VIP packages, which for $50 on top of the ticket price, gives access to the VIP section and two hours of beverages.
