Pandora brings SXSW to Australia and New Zealand

Pandora internet radio will be returning to SXSW for its third annual Pandora Discovery Den party, set to happen from March 12 – 15. And to make things even better, they will be broadcasting every performance live to Australia + New Zealand fans via a multi-platform audio stream.

With over 35 acts set to take the stage over a huge 4 days, this is one event not to be missed. The lineup includes Australia’s own Boy and Bear, Brooklyn's Haerts, newcomers MAGIC! + heaps more.

Samsung announces concert series for SXSW starting on Wednesday with Jay Z and Kanye West!

So, the AU is hitting the ground running at SXSW, as you could tell if you've been following the social media posts, but one thing we've been doing above all else is keeping ears to the ground of any special unexpected showcases. First it was the rumours of an Outkast show. Then there was Gaga, which ended up being confirmed. What we didn't expect, was for Samsung (one of the large presences in Austin this year) to announce a massive concert season for this week, kicking off with a special one-off performance by Jay Z and Kanye West.

M for Montreal hits Maggie Mae’s as part of SXSW

The annual M for Montreal SXSW party is returning to Austin on March 13 at Maggie Mae’s. The massive showcase will feature 8 hours of music from specially selected artists, showcasing Montreal’s talent!

Little Boots, Tokyo Police Club and Blondfire added to Rdio Sessions at SXSW

SWSX kicks off today and the announcements keep rolling in! Joining the Rdio Sessions will be English electro-popster Little Boots, Canada’s Tokyo Police Club and LA brother/sister duoBlondfire.

Rdio recently released it’s annual "Artists to Watch" list, which showcases 20 handpicked artists Rdio anticipate to break through this year. Rdio Sessions at SXSW will features many of these artists, including Haerts, Strange Talk and Tensnake.

D.D Dumbo, Eagulls, The Creases and more for the Laneway Festival's SXSW Party!

Australia's festival scene is set to be well-represented at SXSW this year, now with the St Jerome's Laneway Festival being the third Aussie festival to announce a showcase in Austin this month. Laneway, who have had arguably one of the most successful festival tours of 2014 thus far, will be holding their shindig at Holy Mountain on March 15th, showing off the talents of not only some of our best, but some great international bands as well.

Falls Festival and Splendour in the Grass team up for SXSW party!

Two of the country's best and well-loved festivals are headed to Austin to show the Americans how we do! Secret-Sounds are presenting the Falls Festival/Splendour in the Grass SXSW party at Holy Mountain in Austin and features some great talent from not only Australia, but the US, UK and Canada too!

SPIN's annual SXSW party is always a popular event for the music loving public who converge on Austin's Stubb's venue each year. They've pulled out all stops with their 2014 event, with a diverse line up set to impress. The gig is taking place across two stages on March 14th and will be featuring live performances by the following artists.

The IHEARTCOMIX Austin Party Weekend announces full line up and set times!

Things are really beginning to heat up now SXSW is edging ever closer, with the huge showcase events starting to roll out their full artist lineups and set times. IHC (iHEARTCOMIX)have unveiled their full schedule for the Austin Party Weekend, which is going to be representing some killer artists from both Australia and abroad. With the likes of DZ Deathrays, Whatsonot, Wave Racer and RÜFÜS (or RÜFÜS DU SOL) flying the flag, we're pretty sure this weekend is going to be that much sweeter.

Boy and Bear and Vance Joy join the likes of Phantogram and London Grammar for the epic KGSR SXSW live broadcast!

KGSR, renowned for their SXSW live broadcasts, have unveiled their broadcast schedule for 2014 and it's mega, to say the least! Taking place over four mornings (March 12th - March 15th), Andy Langer, Kristen Kurtis and Kelly Jordan will be hosting a line up of artists including our very own Boy and Bear and Vance Joy, with all event benefits going toward Make A Wish Central & South Texas.

The Cat Empire and John Butler Trio announced with Biffy Clyro and Massive Attack for the Gurten Festival!

If someone could grab us tickets to this one, that'd be great. We'd love to visit Switzerland. The final artist lineup for the Gurten Festival in Bern has been announced, with Aussies The Cat Empire and the John Butler Trio set to perform alongside some of the world's best over the four day party.

Psychedelic Furs, Washed Out, Run The Jewels and more for post-SXSW festival, the Maverick Festival!

Because Texas doesn't have enough music goodness happening next month, the Maverick Music Festival has gone and dropped a killer line up for March 21 and 22. The second annual music gathering in San Antonio at the La Villita Historic Arts Village offers punters a truly unique line up and festival experience they're probably not expecting to get in the wake of the huge SXSW mayhem that will be overtaking Texas in March.

Communion announces SXSW showcases featuring Vance Joy, D.D Dumbo and more!

Australian hotshots D.D Dumbo and Vance Joy are set to be must-sees at SXSW this year, with both just announced to peform at the showcases presented by UK music label Communion. The two showcases set for March 12th and 14th, will showcase acts from both the UK and the US as well as our Aussie reps, taking over both Blackheart and St David's Church in Austin. Party.

Jagwar Ma included in Red Bull Sound Select's "4 Days in Austin" series for SXSW.

Fresh from dominating Australian festival crowds, Jagwar Ma will be taking part in a hot series of showcases at SXSW run by Red Bull Sound Select. The '4 Days in Austin' run of shows have begun rolling out the names and man, it's looking good. Red Bull Sound Select is an artist development program has seen the likes of The Smashing Pumpkins, Best Coast and Chance The Rapper take part in their Austin/SXSW showcases in the past, and while only two of the four artist announcements have been made, the artists we do know who are set to perform are below...

SXSW Comedy to take over Austin in March - the best up and comers and established names set to appear!

You like jokes, we like jokes. The Americans know how to do comedy well and next month SXSW will be delivering one killer punch line with its lineup of comics for 2014. SXSW Comedy will be highlighting not only some of the biggest names in the biz at the moment, but also with be shining the light on some of the hottest names coming through the ranks. The SNL powerhouse will be well-represented as will many other cult franchises - we're stoked to be heading along to check out the following:

John Butler Trio, Vance Joy, Cut Copy and The Preatures headed to Bonnaroo!

A massive Bonnaroo lineup dropped, with headliners in Elton John, Kanye West and Jack White leading what is going to be one hell of a festival in June. In amongst the fray, some Australians are also headed over to perform, with the John Butler Trio, Cut Copy, Vance Joy and The Preatures set to fly the flag.
