After the runaway success of the launch event in September, the Insert Coin(s) team is proud to announce Insert Coin(s): Level 2 on November 10 at Oxford Art Factory!

The new event series pays tribute to old school arcades, bringing together games, music and art – as well as geek culture and fashion – in a venue that is already known for setting the trends in these spaces.

Mark Gerber, Co-founder and proprietor of the Oxford Art Factory, believes "In light of the stunning success of IC1, the team is leveling up to give you the next installment – affectionately titled ‘Level 2’. Bring on level 10, I say!"

Attendees pay just $10 for a night of retro gaming (tabletop, pinball and standing arcade units) and the latest gaming titles). DJs will spin a blend of 80s, 90s and modern rock and upcoming Aussie band Glass Towers will take to the main stage.

The series will also showcase modern gaming favourites and upcoming games from leading publishers, giving gamers and casual fans a chance to sample the latest titles ahead of release. This time, thanks to Ubisoft Australia, Assassins Creed: Revelations will be on show across 6 screens ahead of release on November 15. Players will get a chance to sample the long-awaited next chapter in the epic action saga, only at Insert Coin(s).

Co-founder Patrick Kolan adds, "We were overwhelmed by the success and sheer fun of the first Insert Coin(s). It was an insanely fun night, pure and simple. Old school and casual gamers, music and art fans mingled with the retro and new games – and there were a lot of red eyes the next day in Sydney."

Graffiti artists handpicked by Shannon McKinnon of Secret Wars Australia will take pen and ink to giant canvases, creating live art inspired by video games right before your very eyes. "Both SCALE and ALEX LEHOURS thrive with this format of live art.” Says Shannon, “It’s a great way to showcase talented artists with such a great, creative audience."

A custom 80s-style milk bar, built into the venue, will serve alcoholic milkshakes and there will be free candy and surprises all night! Doors open at 6pm.

As arcades become a rarity, nights like Insert Coin(s) give a new generation a taste of yesteryear - but with the edge of 'cool' that patrons have come to expect from the team at Oxford Art Factory.
