Gorgeous Festival at McLaren Vale on Saturday November 26th will present two stages for emerging artists titled the 'APRA Petit Rosso and APRA Petit Bianco' Stages. Thanks to sponsorship from the Australiasian Performing Rights Assoication (APRA) Gorgeous Festival is pleased to announce the innitiative that offers emerging talent the chance to play alongisde the likes of Icehouse and Josh Pyke.

The stages will operate throughout the night offering eight slots for emerging original Australian musicians. 6 of the 8 slots will be reserved for South Australian Musicians as Gorgeous Festival is committed to discovering new acts and introducing them to larger audiences.

The singer/songwriter performance slots will be curated by the Festival Director via an application process on the Gorgeous Festival Web Site. The artists selected will be paid for their performance and will feature in festival promotion, which aims to give emerging artists a real festival experience.

In the lead up to the festival the performers will be mentored online to understand the difference between a festival slot and a venue based gig andabout how they can use the festival slot to communicate with their fan base.

Ideally Gorgeous Festival would like to choose one act from the 2011 APRA Petit Stage Program to upscale to a main stage slot in 2012.

Gorgeous Festival is an annual boutique music, food and wine festival commencing as an annual 1 day festival at McLaren Vale on the Fleurieu Peninsula on November 26th 2011. It’s Gorgeous aim to become an annual, iconic event that enhances interstate tourism and intrastate tourism to the Fleurieu Peninsula. To ensure the sustainability the experience at Gorgeous Festival will be second to none.

Like its name Gorgeous Festival will be exactly that for the audience member. Not simply a music festival it is an experience of the abundance of the region. Gorgeous Music, Gorgeous Wine, Gorgeous Food.

Chef Billy Dohnt (Salopian Inn & d’Arrys Veranda) is working with local restaurants to create an enviable festival menu! The likes of, The Currant Shed, The Victory Hotel & Blessed Cheese with more to be announced!
